Most neck pain comes from an injury to a muscle, ligament or joint. Muscle spasm often occurs as a result of an injury and can cause pain. Common causes of neck pain include: poor sitting posture, prolonged computer work, over-head activities and fatigue.
The pain can be aggravated by poor sitting posture, lying or turning head. Short walks and changing positions through-out the day will speed up recovery.
You can attend for physiotherapy treatment without a GP referral. We will liaise with your GP, especially if we will feel you require any further investigations such as blood tests, X-Ray, MRI or a specialist opinion.
